Windows, Doors and Hardware

Windows
Main house
Double hung windows for the main house made by Sierra Pacific. This is one of the two windows in my studio, in addition to the sky light.
And finally finished. The new part of the construction has these beautiful wooden blinds. In the old part of the house, we replaced the metal mini-blinds with wooden blinds.

Kitchen/art storage
We reused two of the three Marvin windows we saved in the demolition in the kitchen/art storage area.
Cottage
Casement (roll out) windows made by Sierra Pacific. These are three of the four windows in Katherine's office. Her desk is right in front of them.
We put paper shades in the front windows of the Katherine's office and across the double doors and two stationery windows leading into the multi-purpose room.
Storage room:
We reused one of the three Marvin windows we save in the demolition in the cottage storage area.

Interior Doors
Main house
Pocket Doors
My office:
The photo to the right, taken prior to the demolition, was the pocket door to my office. Sonoma Sash worked on it to fit the new opening.
Update October 19, 2012: Here is the reconfigured pocket door to my office.
And finally finished.
Master bath:
This is a photo of the master bath door prior to demolition. It was preserved.
Update July 6, 2012: Sonoma Sash will convert the original door to a pocket door.
Update October 19, 2012: Here is the reconfigured pocket door to the master bath.
And finally finished.
My studio to long hallway:
I bought an old craftsman door from Omega Salvage for the pocket door to my studio from the long hall. Sonoma Sash made it into a pocket door.
Update October 19, 2012: Here is the reconfigured pocket door leading from my studio into the hallway.
And finally finished.

My studio into the sitting room:
It wasn't possible to use a reclaimed door from the demolition of the house for this pocket door. So Sonoma Sash provided a new one, which made their work easier and actually looks great.
Update October 19, 2012: Here is the pocket door between my studio and the sitting room.
And finally finished.

Regular and unusual doors
Our closets:
I purchased two matching craftsman doors from Omega Salvage and all the appropriate hardware. They were made ready for installation as closet doors by Sonoma Sash.
Update October 19, 2012: Erio hung all the internal doors in the main house and the cottage. The photo to the left is the door to my closet.
And finally finished.

The laundry area:
Update January 18, 2013: The doors to the laundry area have been rehung. They will have pulls similar to the ones in the master bath.
And finally finished.
Cottage
Pocket doors
Multi-purpose room to Katherine's office:
There is another one exactly like it directly across the room leading to the storage area.
Regular doors
Bathroom:
The door into the bathroom from the multi-purpose room.

Exterior Doors
Main house
My studio:
This door leads from my studio to the back deck. The door from the sitting room to the small covered porch is just the same.
And finally finished.
Sitting room:
The door leading from the covered porch area to the sitting room.

Kitchen/art storage area
The door was moved from the covered parking area to the south side facing the house. Because it is in a more exposed position, Jon suggested that we use a paintable "plastic" door which can withstand the elements.
And finally finished.

Garden storage
These double doors are also paintable "plastic" doors, able to withstand the elements.
Cottage
The storage area:
This Sierra Pacific door leads to the cottage storage area.
And finally finished.

The multi-purpose room:
A beautiful set of double doors with stationery windows on either side.
Katherine's office:
Same door as on the storage area above.

Hardware
I wanted to use the same lock set as on the kitchen door on all external doors. Emtek #5 3 3/8" C-to-C Keyed Sideplate with Wincester Knob in Medium Bronze
From Sonoma Sash in 2006
Two things derailed that wish: 1) Jon chose the locks below for the kitchen/art storage area and 2) the other external doors on both the main house and the cottage came with lock sets.
Kitchen/art storage and garden storage
The locks used are similar to the one above but have the lock part in the knob. Jon convinced me that this sort of lock system was better in this situation.

Main house and cottage
Update July 6, 2012: The various external doors which are being ordered from Sierra Pacific come with hardware. I have requested Rodos handles with 216 escutcheon in oil rubbed brass.
The door handles and locks have been installed on all the new exterior doors. Other than our having to learn how to lock them, they look great and seem to work well.
