Flooring and Rugs

We want 2" oak flooring throughout the renovation in the main house and in the cottage.

Main house
The new flooring starts at the doorway as you enter the long hallway with my office on the left. There is new flooring in my office, on down the hall, in the closets, laundry area, bedroom, sitting room, and my studio.
Update July 6, 2012: We want the floor in the front of the house to be refinished so that the floors throughout the main house are the same color, slightly warmer than is currently the case.
Update November 14, 2012: Sanding and fixing the floors in the old part of the house. Some repair work in the dining room needed to be done where a previous repair to cover a register for a floor furnace was done poorly.
Update November 14, 2012: Deciding on the stain color. We chose the one on the right for both the main house and the cottage.

Update December 3, 2012: The floors finished in the new part of the main house. No admittance until they dry just a bit more.
Update January 23, 2013: The paper in the living room has been removed, revealing the beautiful floors underneath.
The rug we brought up from Berkeley is in the living room.
We bought a section of wall-to-wall carpet and had it bound, at Marty's suggestion. the color works nicely with the living room rug.
We moved the rug that had been in the kitchen since its renovation in 2006 to the master bath. It works so well on that floor.
The rug which had been at the bottom of the stairs in Berkeley found a new home here in the sitting room.
Cottage
The oak flooring covers the multi-purpose room, Katherine's office, the storage area and the bathroom. The stain is exactly the same as in the main house.
Update October 31, 2012: The oak flooring in the cottage is nearly done. The installer will finish up the bathroom area once the tiler has finished the shower area.
Update December 3, 2012: Jim, one of the two installers, staining the white oak in the cottage.
Driveway from the gate through the carport
We are using pavers: McNear Slatestone Golden Tan
Update November 5, 2012: It turns out that the Slatestone Golden Tan is a custom order which would greatly inflate the price. In conversation with Brett, I decided to choose Belgian Cobble Golden-Tan instead.
The pavers in the driveway beyond the gate being installed in early December.
The front part of the driveway is complete. After it cured a bit, the guys gave it an acid treatment to get rid of the white which has come to the surface.

Kitchen/art/garden storage area adjacent to the car port
The flooring in there should be concrete.
Update January 28, 2013: The flooring in the kitchen/art/garden storage area is concrete. I took this photo recently but the concrete was actually poured quite a while ago.
